Anonymous asked: Is it possible to be simultaneously feminist and conservative?

Yo, there are like a billion different definitions for “conservative” so I can’t possibly know exactly what you mean by it. But let me say this: I believe wholeheartedly that feminism and all other forms of anti-oppression absolutely must be intersectional by their very nature. If they’re not, then they’re just adding to the problem and aren’t anti-oppression at all. They’re Anti-Oppression That Specifically Affects Me which is just a way of trying to grant oneself privilege instead of erase it wholesale.

As such, if you’re talking about a definition of “conservative” that involves looking out for (SOME) women, while condoning, enforcing, or in any way being complicit to (through action or inaction) oppression on some other axis, then no. It’s not possible to be simultaneously that and feminist in any meaningful way.

YO IS THIS SEXIST?
